King Adam and His Team Shows Their Appreciation


	Every year the Hampton Inn & Suites- Lincolnshire holds a special event for Administrative Assistant day for all of their corporate and leisure accounts. This year’s theme was “Always Treated like Royalty”. Adam Lopez, the General Manager was the King, and Kristy Klaibor, Director of Sales, and Jennie Chapman, Sales Coordinator, were his wenches. The decorations were prepared by the Sales Department and M&M Events.

Home Office Team Member Highlight


	Who is Lew Estes? Lew Estes serves as the Regional Director of Sales for the Eastern Region for First Hospitality Group and has been with the company for three years. Lew works alongside our General Managers and Sales Teams strategizing new ways to stay ahead of our competitors. These strategies include: achieving top of the line revenue and RevPar penetration goals. In addition, Lew supports and guides FHG sales professional’s development as leaders. Background: Lew graduated from the Art Institute of Philadelphia earning a degree in Animation. Following graduation, Lew moved to Chicago, IL where he took a job at the Doubletree Hotel in Arlington Heights, IL. With a desire to learn more about the hospitality industry, Lew cross-trained in many different departments: Bellman, managed a full-service health club, and worked in outlets for the catering side. In 2006 Lew joined the FHG family as the Director of Sales at our Holiday Inn Select in Rosemont, IL.

Special Note From the President!


	Dear Team, Lots of FHG in the news this month. IND GM Mike Campbell rated a full page (page 8 if you are looking) in this month’s Lodging Hospitality Magazine. Mike was featured for his work with the Indiana Department of Energy utilizing a partial state grant to install a solar panel on the roof of his hotel. Great job Mike! Chicago area hotels CTD, CHS, ILR and CSL were recognized at a press conference by the Illinois Hotel and Lodging Association for their efforts to “go green” as part of the IHLA Stay Green Program. Marketing Manager Lucy Subhasiriwatana has been named Chairwoman of the IHLA under 30 Gateway Council. The Gateway Council is a chapter of the AHLA group committed to exploring opportunities in hospitality for rising stars under the age of 30.

Hilton Garden Inn Green Efforts in effect


	Last week the Hilton Garden Inn in Indianapolis, IN finally had the solar panels installed. Within the the first week of installation, the system produced 159 Kilowatt Hours and conserved over 271 pounds of CO2, that would have been released into the atmosphere by burning coal to produce the same amount of energy. Prior to Earth Day, a link on the hotel’s website and an electronic display will be available so that guests can view the production of the solar panels in real time!

Quality Service at FHG!


	Great service is essential to FHG. We are driven as a company to please every guest every time. As shown below, we are headed in the right direction of quality service. Please view the wonderful comments directly from our guests: SpringHill Suites, Chicago O’Hare This past Saturday I was attending a training session at the hotel, being held by my employer Cultural Care Au Pair. I had a family medical emergency. My son was taken by ambulance to Weiss Memorial Hospital in the city for post surgery hemorrhaging. I needed to find transportation to the hospital approximately 15 miles away. Ryan D Graham, Guest Services Manager helped me find the best and fastest way. He arranged for cab, printed out map quest directions, and helped me tremendously. I can't thank him enough for his kindness and assistance during my crisis. I arrived safely to the hospital in 30 minutes. My son had emergency surgery to stop the bleeding and he is home now. Karen S. Relstab Wyndham Hotel, Buffalo Grove, IL "WONDERFUL!!
